I wrote this composition for a vocalist to sing the melody line. However, I have not written lyrics yet and I do not think you would want to hear me sing. LOL I used a combo of a celesta and marimba to play the melody line on this demo. This composition is completely different than any of the other music I have posted. I started with writing the drum part. Then I composed the bass, guitar, keyboard, and melody. I played flugel, trumpet, and harmon muted trumpet on the track and added 2 flutes. Again, the mix is rough, but I thought I would share it as it is. Everyone have a wonderful day.
I decided to post this song I wrote back on January 21st, 2021. I have to laugh at myself with my grammatical incorrectness on my video intro, but I had only 1 cup of coffee so far. I decided to leave it and show my speaking flaws. It was a little windy outside and it played havoc with the mic and audio. But, it is what it is. Hope you enjoy the song. Everyone have a wonderful day.
I had a request to play something on flugelhorn a couple of days ago. So, I wrote and arranged a song and called it "Request for Flugelhorn." Quite creative, don't you think? LOL Anyway, here is another song written and recorded from home. Again, these are rough mixes and only to provide music and hopefully a smile. Everyone stay safe and healthy.
One of the positives in being in lockdown is having the time to work on some original material. This is another original I wrote called "Slammin." I recorded all this at home composing midi tracks and playing in parts. All the other songs I have posted have been the same. Saying that, the mix quality may not be great, but I wanted to go ahead and share the music. If I can bring a smile to someone's face it is worth it. Everyone stay safe and healthy and take care...
I composed and recorded this tune at home. The video explains what the song is about. Enjoy and let me know what you think.
Rest of My Life
I wrote and recorded this at home a few years ago, but thought I would share it. I enjoy playing a variety of music and this is a blend of latin, funk, and jazz. Enjoy.
Short version of Auld Lang Syne. All the best to everyone and have a happy, healthy and safe 2021.
Wanted to write a simple happy tune and this is what I wrote. Had special guest Tommy Schneller lay down some sax tracks and a solo. Thank you Tommy.
I call this song I wrote "Backward Funk" because of the groove. It is not your typical snare on 2 and 4 kind of groove. Check it out.
When I wrote the bridge of this tune I thought of the lyric "Talk to Me." So, I named it "Talk to Me." I will be writing lyrics and the melody I am playing on trumpet will be a vocalist and I will probably write horn parts behind the vocalist, but I recorded this instrumental version first. More to come...
Wrote this arrangement of Jingle Bells for a Pee Wee Ellis Christmas tour in 2019. I am playing the melody line on trumpet where the vocalists would normally sing. I played in all the horn tracks and created midi-files with virtual instruments for the rhythm section so I could share my version of Jingle Bells. I recorded and put this together in my home office in Neustadt am Rübenberge. Enjoy...
I wrote this tune on January 2nd, 2021 after waking up and deciding to write a tune. The video introduction explains a little about the tune. I recorded and put this together in my home office in Neustadt am Rübenberge. Enjoy.
